SUMP Clinic: Tailored Support for Baltic Sea Region Cities
The SUMP clinic is designed to boost the adoption and implementation of good-quality Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs) across cities and regions in the Baltic Sea Region (BSR). We are offering tailored support to 10 selected cities, with a special focus on small and mid-sized cities – whether they are just starting their SUMP process or facing challenges with an existing plan.
How it works
Cities are selected through an open application process. Each chosen city will benefit from two individual online consultation meetings with SUMP clinic’s highly experienced SUMP experts, Kristina Gaučė & Monika Parafinaitytė-Rae from JSC Gaučė ir Ko (Lithuania).
Consultation flow
In the first meeting, we define together the scope and goals for the Clinic tailored to each city’s needs. Between meetings, our SUMP experts prepare relevant case examples and targeted recommendations based on the challenges identified. In the second meeting, we dive into the dive into the best practices, discuss the case examples, and explore actionable solutions. Afterwards, each city receives a personalised roadmap with expert recommendations outlining future actions to tackle their unique challenges.
How to apply
We’re looking for cities that truly need support and are motivated to begin their journey towards Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMPs) or work to improve their existing plan. In your application, please explain:
- Why your city needs help with its SUMP process in the selected area.
- Why this support matters for your city’s development.
If we receive more than 10 applications, priority will be given to cities that meet the criteria:
- Cities that don’t yet have a SUMP or are working on their first SUMP.
- Cities with a population under 350,000.
- Cities facing challenges with starting the SUMP process or with monitoring and evaluation.
- Cities located in the Baltic Sea Region (Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Sweden) ensuring a balanced regional representation.
